Violation of First Amendment Rights

Our rights are being trampled upon. The fact that even opposing or conflicting views are not allowed is troublesome. Look at Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. He said that when Joe Biden became president, his social media posts were removed. In other words, he was censured or silenced by the Biden administration for criticizing the COVID-19 vaccine and other policies during that time. But that's not the only example of the violation of first amendment rights.  

Last year on September 10, 2025 a patriotic and Christian voice was silenced. Charlie Kirk was assassinated for speaking out in truth and exercising his first amendment right of speech. That is not how it should be. Americans should welcome debate even if it is something that is not agreed upon. Differing opinions can help shed light on issues that affect everybody and help shape viewpoints and positions on controversial topics. New ideas can form and enlighten those who hear or read the issues. Solutions to societal problems can develop from these debates and improve countless lives. All in all, the first amendment is crucial and is the backbone of what makes the United States great.

The first amendment is what makes America truly special. If anything, I hope that it is protected and citizens realize it needs to be upheld. The day we lose our right to speak, assembly and pursue happiness is the day that liberty has died. America will have fallen into depravity. Everyone should be on alert and concerned about our rights. Censorship and silencing individuals who speak their minds has no place in a truly free America.
